Jim Urbach  > Nature > Falklands, South Georgia and Antarctica 2008
I feel very lucky to have visited this area of the world for a second time. I found the chicks I had hoped to see, but never expected to see a snowstorm on Paulet Island. Many thanks to Peter Harrison, the most spell binding story teller I have ever heard, Shirley Metz, his lovely, capable and accomplished wife, Mike Messick and Jonathan Rossouw of Zeagrahms, the Clipper Adventurer staff and my fellow adventurers for making this trip so memorable.

This galley is composed of my better wildlife images and other memorable views from my trip. Enjoy viewing

Jim Urbach > Clipper Adventurerer anchored in a bay at South Georgia Island
Jim Urbach > Shirley Metz, Peter's wife, but also a fabulous person, great photographer and accomplished activist in preserving the Antarctica wilderness. She is the first women to have skied to the South Pole. It was Shirley that I spoke to before my first trip in 2002 and she certainly convinced me to travel with Zeagrahm's. I have always been so grateful to her for spending the long time on the plone with me and answering all my questions. Zeagrahm's is the best.
Jim Urbach > Mike Messick, another Zegrahm's owner and Captain Thomas on the bridge. Thanks Mike for a wonderful trip.

Jim Urbach > Rusty Evans our great zodiac driver. A great kelper and assistant tour leader.

Jim Urbach > Magellanic Penguin pair on Bleaker Island, the Falklands. The next 16 images are of these unique penguins that make their den by burrowing in the ground,
